Creating A Fairy Garden

It is often said that fairies can be found at the bottom of your garden. This is true but what if you don't have a garden? Well, create your own.

Select the area for your garden. A planter or pot will work but it must have access to the warming rays of the sun and the misty showers of spring. Seek out the richest soil you can find. Mix it together with natural compost and a few sprinkles of fairy dust.

Now you are ready to plant .Listed below are some of your best choices to attract fairies. You will only need two or three depending on the size of your pot.

Bluebells - The fairies dance around them at night while the bells play a beautiful song.
Basil Serves as a protector in the garden.
Carnations - The fairies take on the colors of these flowers and radiate feelings of deep love.
Clover - Assists in finding love and wealth. It is not unusual to find a leprechaun in clover.
Cowslips - These are distinguished by their ability to find hidden fairy gold.
Iris - These flowers appear in all the colors of the rainbow and bring you feelings of peace and hope.
Jasmine
Lady's Mantle - Fairies can shower in the drops of dew from this blossom.
Lavender - Wherever this flower grows there will always be a great amount of fairy and elf activity. They use this flower to make drink for their parties and the fairies also like to use this plant to scent their clothes.
Pansy - Its color attracts fairies.
Rosemary
Sage
Sweet Woodruff - The flowers reflect the light of the moon and illuminate your garden for fairy dances late at night.
Thyme - Fairies are known to build their homes under thyme. It also emits an evening fragrance that will attract the fairies to where you sleep.
Woolly Lamb's Ear - A fairy's favorite pet.

Arrange and plant your choices. Sprinkle with a little more fairy dust, water and let Mother Nature do her work.

As your garden grows and the colors and scents fill the air, your belief is the final ingredient to attract fairies. They will be very shy at first and you may only see a flash of light or feel an unexplained breeze but they will be there.

You can make your garden even more attractive to fairies by adding a small twig bridge or a few shiny beautiful items like a small mirror, button, ring or jewel.

Remember that the best time to see your fairies are the 'tween times of dawn, noon, dusk and midnight.
